The Clipstream™ Live Repeater is server-installed software
for Windows and UNIX servers that allows a location-based webcast
using
to send a stream to a higher capacity server so that a larger
audience can view the live content. This is useful not only for
accomodating higher traffic but also for regional distribution
and load balancing. In administration mode the Clipstream™
Live Repeater can be accessed and configured remotely using any
browser.
*note: the same information in these pages can be
found in the Clipstream™
Live technical manual, pages 18-24.

Clipstream™ Live Repeater:
A larger audience can receive the same webcast content from
a large capacity server that receives the originating stream
from the webcasting site.
The Clipstream™ Live Repeater ("The
Repeater") is provided on request to users of Clipstream™
Live who:
- do not have enough bandwidth at the originating webcast
site
- want to load balance between multiple servers
- need to mask the IP of the originating webcasting computer
- have contracted a third party responsible for bandwidth
- wish to syndicate the same content to other cities or
regions
Examples of situations requiring the Repeater:
- A press conference where only limited bandwidth has been
allocated to the webcaster
- A corporation's AGM that must be webcast to shareholders
who may be viewing from many parts of the country
- A sports event that syndicates to different rights-holding
websites
