What kind of hardware do you need to use Clipstream™ Live?
Clipstream™ Live requires a PC (no Mac version sorry), a broadband internet connection and a video input source such as a camera or cable video input into a capture card.

What kind of software do you need to use Clipstream™ Live?
Windows XP, 2000, NT4 and higher. To view it in your browser you must have Java installed and enabled. Go to this page to enable it.

Will it work through firewalls?
Yes, but it will require some configuring of your firewall package. In general you must make sure that the IP of your broadcasting PC is reachable through your firewall.

Whenever I try running Clipstream™ Live it quits
This is usually because you do not have a camera or other video input source connected.

When I run Clipstream™ Live I can see the video image in the application but not when I 'view web page'
This means you have an issue with the detected IP address. You should find out what your outward facing IP for your broadcasting machine is and enter it manually in the Server Settings (Settings menu -> Server Settings).

How do I adjust the quality of the video?
In the Clipstream Live application itself you can change the video input quality you are receiving from your camera by going to the Settings menu and choosing Video Capture Device Properties.

How do I adjust the quality of the audio?
In the Clipstream Live application itself you can change the video input quality you are receiving from your camera by going to the Settings menu and choosing Audio Capture Device Properties.

How do I adjust the quality of the streams as they appear on the web page?
You can edit the default live.ini document that Clipstream Live uses to output the streams to the web page. Learn how to do this on this page.

How do I remove the logo from my Clipstream™ Live video stream?
The logo can be removed once you have purchased a license and registered. Purchase here.

What is a UID and how to do I get this from Clipstream™ Live in order to purchase a License registration key?
It is located under the Help menu. See this page for more information.

How do I register Clipstream™ Live?
Once you have purchased a license you will be send a key that you enter by going to the Help menu and choosing Registration. Enter the key in the "Registration Code" field.

How many cameras can I use with Clipstream™ Live?
You can use one camera per PC. However, if you have a multiplexer that will derive the input from multiple cameras that wil also work provided the multiplexer outputs a single edited video stream. Clipstream Live does not demux.

What does 100 streams in commercial license mean? Can I get more?
This means that 100 concurrent viewers can watch your Live video. You can purchase or upgrade your commercial license to more concurrent streams by contacting a sales representative for a larger licence. Contact page here.

What is the Clipstream™ Live Repeater?
If the original broadcasting PC running Clipstream Live doesn't have the bandwidth to handle the estimated connections, you can install the Clipstream™ Live Repeater program on a separate PC or server that has more bandwidth. The Repeater program then picks up the video stream from the original Clipstream Live PC and rebroadcasts it. The Repeater is available to commercial licenses.

Will Clipstream™ Live work with professional or 'prosumer' camers?
It will take in any video input whether it is from a video capture card, cable, USB or Firewire. You can run Clipstream Live on a laptop for on-location video.

How can you record the video input at the same time you are webcasting it?
Clipstream Live has an archiving feature that will record the video as Clipstream Video (.vcs) files for streaming later. If you require higher quality video for DVD or local playback you will need to record to tape.
