Upload
and Host Clipstream™ Live Archives
After you have archived a Clipstream Live webcast, host it on
a webserver so others can view it. This page follows up instructions
on how to archive a Clipstream™ Live
webcast here.
Requirements
- access to a webserver
- an FTP program such as WS_FTP, Dreamweaver,
Fetch
- Notepad or other code editor
The contents of the www/ directory under
your Clipstream™ Live program install
- panelimages.jpg
- videoclipstream.zip
- videoclipstream.cab
- archive.html
In addition, you need the archive files
you want to display for others to see on your webpages. These
are the video files that have been saved from your live webcast.
Uploading
Follow the steps below to upload your movie to your website correctly
so that it can be hosted.
1. Copy the required Clipstream™ files (see
the list above) to your website's local space.
2. Connect to your web server using your
FTP
program.
3. Create a directory where you would like your
Clipstream™ Video to be hosted.
4. Using your FTP program, upload the videoclipstream.zip,
.vcs file(s), panelimages.jpg and the .html page to the directory
you have created.
5. Make note of the location on your server.
View the page remotely
Now that all of the files are located on your webserver, view them
using a browser.
1. Open up a
Java-enabled
browser.
2. Type in the location of the .html page that
you have uploaded into the Address field of your browser.
Make sure the address includes the name of the .html page that you
uploaded.
3. The page should display in your browser like
it did at the end of the Quick Start guide only this time it will
be streaming from the Internet, not from your hard drive.
To play the video, click anywhere on the
video frame
or click the
flashing play button.
The video will detect your connection speed.
And then it will play.
Licensing
The sample movie included with the installation will play with a
flashing logo imposed over the image. You can test a movie of any
length on your webserver. To remove the flashing logo, go to our
